ONE OF FOUR IMAGES SELECTED FOR THE PERMANENT ARCHIVE
In conjunction with the momentum following his May 29th presentation, the Chrysler Museum of Art formally acquired four works by Rodney Lough Jr. into its permanent collection in November 2025.
The four images are: The Thin Veil, Trees of the Mist, El Cap at Sunrise Along the Merced River, and Left Handed – Pano.
This acquisition was made in recognition of his artistic vision and the profound inspiration his work has brought to so many.
The selection marks an important moment in the continued institutional recognition of his contribution to fine art landscape photography.

RODNEY LOUGH JR. | MASTER PHOTOGRAPHER
I’ve Been at this a Very Long Time
The scars on my shins, the broken ribs, hands, spiral fractures, countless stitches, have all demonstrated my passion & love of wild places. It can be very dangerous out there alone.
My family has been in this country since before it was a country. Generations of camping, hiking, reading signs in the wildest places this country has to offer, has given me a love for places of solace. This passion has been with me since birth, it is just part of my DNA. My ‘Uncle Bill’ gave me a camera to document my travels when I was only 12. His only advice…”Go have fun!” And I have done that ever since.
See the beauty of the world we live in.
