We often get asked where we come up with some of these names. In this case it was easy. Della Terra is Italian for “From the Earth.” What more do we need to say? It’s the perfect description for this wonderful style. Each piece is hand fitted with a very high end tightly woven fabric wrap, in either black or white. Each frame is handcrafted in and imported from Italy, and are sourced from sustainable forestry programs. All you have to do is pick which frame and linen works best for you. As I watched the dawn come to life I set out to still the moment. The Grand Tetons were veiled in thick clouds that concealed much of their grandeur. That didn’t matter to me and I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of reverence. There is just something about this range. The dawn began to come up but there was no color in the clouds as I’m so used to having happen.
My mind went back to the basics, I quickly altered my camera's settings, aiming to capture the stark contrast between the dark, looming mountains and the soft, pale light of the early morning. Despite the overcast conditions, I knew that there was still splendor to be found in the subtle interplay of light and shadow. It was then the clouds began to break.
Despite the fact that the clouds had obstructed much of the mountains' magnificence, I had still captured the raw, untamed loveliness of the natural world. As I packed up all my gear, I realized that I would always be drawn back to the majesty of nature and the potency of the camera to capture these fleeting, exquisite moments.
