Go West Young Man

Grand Teton National Park
Wyoming, USA

Last night I was able to attend my son’s choir performance at the high school. At the beginning of it, just before the show started, my wife reminded me to just relax and enjoy the experience of it all. I’ll be honest. I thought the performance was outstanding.

At one point the choir performed “Home, Home on the Range.” After words the conductor pointed out that currently there is a movement to perform local homegrown music, less we forget our roots. I’m grateful that our teachers, who spend almost as much time with our children as we do, have not forgotten where we come from.

If you haven’t listened to that song in awhile, you might want to dust it off and put it on.

“Oh give me a home, where the buffalo roam; where the deer and the antelope play; where seldom is heard, a discouraging word; and the skies are not cloudy all day.”

There are a few more versus, and you probably remember them by heart. I hope you take a moment to remember where you live and the freedom we’ve all been awarded, by our forefathers, and take a hard stance against anything that would try to destroy it.

See Ya On the Trail!
