Yellowstone National Park, WY
Where on earth did he come up with that name? That has to be one of your initial thoughts, isn't it?
We were down to one sheet of film. You read that right, one sheet. One of the geysers in the distance was going off full force and with this sunset I thought, "Don't mess up man!" Just as I started to put pressure on the shutter release I heard a spurt to my right, I stopped just shy of lettin' her go. I remember saying it out loud, "You've got to be kidding me!"
As fast as I could I moved the camera, stepped back a couple of feet, re-composed, and held my breath. Still not knowing if I'd done it right, I watched in amazement as this scene unfolded and pressed the shutter at the peak of sunset and geyser. When it was finished I gave my son Trey, who was with me, a huge hug and exclaimed "That's why we're out here!"
Mucking Refarkable! Opps, am I allowed to say that!?
