Wasatch Mountain State Park, UT
I remember being, oh seventeen ish, on the ranch in Eastern Oregon when
late summer early fall rain would come through the mountains. It was
one of the first times when I recall, what I have come to lovingly
called ‘the smell.” The smell that filled the air, after the light
rain, was enveloping to the point where gigantic deep breaths of air
were forced into my lungs as fast as I could get one breath in, out and
another one back in. I love that smell. It’s nearly impossible to
describe, you have to have experienced yourself to understand.
This night was so special because of the beautiful lighting of the fall
colors, the warmth of the Indian summer night, and of course that
unbelievably wonderful smell. I will always look upon this image with
such fond memories as I seek in my mind to remember everything that was
there that night.
This was such a Sweet Autumn Evening, all my senses were in play. I
keep telling myself, “You should get out more.” I think I’ll take some
of my own advice, See Ya!
